Advertising character booster Waffle Whiffer's running a little "Color Your Own Whitman Kid" dealy over at his Flickr right now. Check it out for a groovy gander at some varied takes on this advertising icon of the the late 60s, 70s and 80s. I, for one, remember his smiling, letter-bedecked visage adorning a multitude of my 1970s birthday presents - from books and puzzles to comics and card games.
